NM Youth Ambassadors
About the Program
"Well-being is nourished by being accountable to a people and a place." Our Local Elder
In response to our elder's recommendation, the New Mexico Youth Ambassadors program was established in 2015 by the Community Learning Network, a grassroots, educational 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to "building stronger communities through real-life learning" and Director Jennifer Nevarez, a professional educator and community advocate.
New Mexico Youth Ambassadors evolved
through collaborationn with local teachers
Ali Kirtland and Alicia Benavides and
Tierra Encantada Charter School. Over the years, elementary, middle, and high school students have participated in the program and enjoyed a range of community-based learning opportunities plus hands-on IT, media, and communications trainings while getting to know their own community and developing their leadership and communications skills.
